Refrigerator Repair — Book a Visit Today

A fridge quits and the clock starts running. Milk, meat, leftovers — all of it on borrowed time. Most calls we take come down to a handful of parts: a condenser fan that stopped spinning, a defrost heater or thermostat that died, a sealed-system leak, a compressor relay, a clogged drain line, or an ice maker fill valve choked with West Texas scale. When we arrive, we listen to the unit, pull temperatures from both compartments, check the coils and airflow, then test the electrical side before we touch a part. You get told what failed and what it takes to fix it, in plain words. Call us and describe what you're hearing and feeling — warm air, water, clicking, nothing at all.

Refrigerator Repair — residential refrigerator being serviced

The refrigerator symptoms we hear most

  • "The fridge is warm but the freezer is still frozen" Evaporator fan failure, blocked air damper, or a defrost system iced over and starving the fresh-food side of cold air.
  • "It runs all day and never shuts off" Dirty condenser coils, a failed condenser fan motor, bad door gaskets, or a control board losing track of temperature.
  • "There's water pooling under the crisper drawers" Plugged defrost drain, cracked drain pan, or a frozen drain tube backing meltwater into the cabinet.
  • "Ice maker fills but the cubes come out hollow or tiny" Low water pressure, scaled-up fill valve, kinked supply line, or a freezer running too warm for a full harvest.
  • "It clicks every few minutes and then goes quiet" Compressor start relay or overload tripping, sometimes a locked compressor or a low-voltage supply problem.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Pull the fridge out and look at the coils underneath or behind — a thick blanket of dust and pet hair chokes cooling fast.
  • 2Set a glass of water inside with a thermometer and read it after a few hours instead of trusting the display.
  • 3Close the door on a dollar bill or sheet of paper and tug; if it slides out easily, the gasket is leaking cold.
  • 4Check the breaker and make sure the plug is seated, and skip extension cords entirely.

Refrigerator Repair — quick answers

How long can food stay safe once the fridge stops cooling?

Keep the doors shut. A full freezer usually holds for a day or so, the fresh-food side far less. Move perishables to a cooler with ice and call us so we can get eyes on it quickly.

Is a noisy refrigerator something to worry about?

Depends on the noise. Buzzing and gurgling are often normal. Grinding, rattling, or a loud hum with warm air points to a fan motor or compressor issue worth checking before it fails outright.

Why does frost keep building up in my freezer?

The defrost cycle isn't finishing. A heater, thermostat, or timer has usually quit. Bad door seals add humid air to the mix. Scraping it off helps for a week, then the frost comes right back.

Does hard water hurt a refrigerator?

It does. Scale builds inside fill valves, water lines, and ice molds, so dispensers slow down and cubes come out small or cloudy. Changing the filter on schedule and flushing lines slows it down.

Should I repair the fridge or replace it?

We look at what failed, the age of the unit, and whether the sealed system is involved. A fan, thermostat, or valve is usually worth fixing. We tell you straight when a repair stops making sense.

How do I get ready for the visit?

Clear a path so the unit can roll out, know roughly when the trouble started, and note any noises or error codes. If water is leaking, towel it up so we can see where it's coming from.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call us or fill out the form. Describe what you hear, smell, or see. Noise, leak, error code, burning odor. Give us the brand and rough age if you know them.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

A technician arrives with common parts on the truck. We test the machine instead of guessing. Then we explain what failed, in plain words, and what the repair takes before anything gets opened up.

  3. Step 3

    You decide, we repair

Nothing gets replaced without your go-ahead. Most repairs finish the same visit. If a part must be ordered, we tell you straight and set a return time that works for your day.

Why homeowners call us

  • Hard water is our specialtyWest Texas scale wrecks dishwashers, ice makers, and water valves. We see it daily. Clogged spray arms, crusted heating elements, inlet screens choked white. We clean and replace the parts that scale eats first.
  • Built for Texas summersHeat pushes refrigerators and freezers hard. Condenser coils pack with dust, compressors run nonstop, garage freezers quit in triple digits. We check cooling systems for heat load, not just for the obvious broken part.
  • Plain talk, no runaroundWe tell you what died and why. If a machine is not worth fixing, we say so. You get the reasoning, not a sales pitch, so you can make the call yourself.
  • Most brands, most machinesWashers, dryers, ranges, ovens, dishwashers, fridges, freezers. We work as an independent shop on all major brands, top load and front load, gas and electric. One call covers the whole laundry room and kitchen.
  • All major brands, gas & electricWhirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE, Maytag, Bosch, KitchenAid and more — as an independent repair company.
